The program will include music and dancing from the Victorian era. The Victorian Quadrille Orchestra and the Small Planet Dancers will present a program and dance performance about the history, music and dance styules of the Civil War era ballroom. The orchestra will be performing actual music and instrumentation used during the Victorian times as the Small Planet Dancers perform the actual dance steps in period costumes.
At the end of the performance, the Small Planet Dancers will teach a dance to the audience. Attendees will also be invited to taste a dessert of the times provided by the Ware Senior Center.
The program will be presented for free as part of the our ongoing 250th anniversary celebration. Although the event is free, reservations are required as space is limited. Call Cathy at 413.967.6016 for reservations or in person at the Senior Center.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Ware Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the MA Cultural Council, a state agency.
